Pender Attractions
Beaches: Pender Island has many beaches that you can enjoy. Have a refreshing swim, a picnic, romantic walks, sunbathing, and enjoy the views.
Nature Watching: Whales, eagles, birds of many varieties, and other wildlife can be seen in and around Pender Island. There are also many deer on the island. Deer will come up and eat from your hand on the ocean side of this home.
Hiking and Walking: There is a good selection of hiking and walking trails on Pender Island, ranging from easy to medium grade trails.
Ocean kayaking: There are many secluded bays and coves surrounding Pender Island, offering some of the best sea kayaking waters around.
Boating: Sailboats, yachts and many assorted types of pleasure crafts can be seen in the waters around Pender Island.
Ocean Fishing: The waters around Pender Island are known for good fishing for catching salmon, halibut or cod.
Scuba Diving: The bays and coves around Pender Island offer shelter for the friendly rock fish, colorful Anemones, and other sea life.
Golf: Pender Island has a world class golf course.
Driftwood Centre: Here visitors will find most their needs met. There is a post office, pharmacy, liquor store, insurance agency, bakery, deli, grocery store, real estate office, gift store, clothing store and a bookstore.
Dining: There are many wonderful restaurants on Pender Island. Poets Cove offers casual and fine dining. Hope Bay Cafe, on the dock at beautiful Hope Bay offers excellent food, including many vegetarian selections and a fantastic view. Port Browning Cafe & Pub is the place to go to meet the locals. There are a few other wonderful restaurants on the island.
Whale watching: You can see whales from the 4 ocean front decks on SERENITY, or you can take a whale watching tour to see these magnificent creatures.
The Community Hall: Check the bulletin board to see what's upcoming. Sometimes they offer movies. On summer and fall Saturdays there is a Farmers' Market.
Wine Tasting: Morning Bay makes wines from grapes grown right on Pender Island and from some of BC’s best vineyards.
Bikes & Scooters: You will find many cyclists on Pender. You can bike along the seaside and forested roads.
Spa: Susurrus Spa is located at Poets Cove. Pamper yourself with a relaxing massage, facials, manicures, pedicures, etc.
